INFO BY MADELEINE HERAULT
In the rehabilation of Toussaint and Marie`s marriage it mentions that Marie bore a total of 14 children. Since only 13, along with their ages, are mentioned in the record it must be assumed that one un-named child died prior to 1838. It is not known wether they were married prior to this rehabiliation. If they were, it appears that it could not have been in a Catholic setting as Marie was baptised, a requirement for a Catholic marriage; just prior to the rehaviliation on August 28, 1838. This couple was granted permission for a Catholic marriage, accepted by way of a letter signed by the Montseigeur Jean Lartigue of Montreal, dated May 18, 1838. Also in the church entry, Toussaint is shown as a farmer by trade and that his wife, Marie, is "cousin germaine" to him. This indicated that she was related to him
through marriage, very likely first cousins. Rehabiliation of the marriage shows Toussaint Laronde was 55 years old and Marie Laronde, his cousin, 45 years old. Their marriage was annulled because they had 13 children before their marriage, besides they were cousins and it probably created a sin with the Catholic church. Witnesses were Dominique Patwe and Joseph Pakwatchini
On March 18, 1884 a Eustache Laronde died at age 80 years of age putting his birth abt. 1784. This could have been a brother of Toussaint`s
They have a son named
